Your Next Favorite Song Could Start in the Philippines This October
Music has a way of slipping into everyday life. We play it while commuting, working out, getting ready, celebrating, or sitting with feelings we do not always know how to explain. A song can end up attached to a person, a place, or an entire season of our lives.
Some of Asia’s songwriters are heading to the Philippines this October for FILSCAP Asia’s Songwriting Master Camp 2026, happening from October 4 to 7.
Writers from India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam will come together to exchange stories, influences, and ideas while creating original songs over four days.
More than a songwriting workshop, the camp is a meeting point for different creative voices and musical cultures across Asia.
It’s also a rare look at the part of music audiences don’t usually get to see: the messy, collaborative stage before a song becomes something polished enough for a stage, a streaming platform, or your favorite playlist.
With songwriters coming from across the region, the camp also creates space for unexpected creative connections—where different influences, experiences, and ways of telling stories can come together in one song.
The experience culminates in Showcase Night on October 7, where the songs created during the camp will finally be performed onstage.
