The New Gen Gets It: tuesday trinkets Brings Back the Pop-Rock Nostalgia We Grew Up With

There’s something about the pop-rock of the late 2000s and early 2010s that instantly takes you back. Think Michelle Branch, Hilary Duff, movie soundtracks, and songs you probably once had playing from a very questionable pair of earphones.

Now, Filipino all-girl dreamy power pop band tuesday trinkets is bringing a little bit of that feeling into a new generation with “I know one day,” their first official single under Sony Music Entertainment.

The band cites Barbie Diaries, Michelle Branch, Hilary Duff, and late-2000s to early-2010s pop among the influences that shaped the track. But rather than simply recreating the music they grew up with, tuesday trinkets mixes that nostalgia with contemporary pop-rock, disc scratches, and cyber-inspired synths.
And yes, the new gen gets the assignment.
“I know one day” is also refreshingly simple in what it wants to say. It isn’t trying to turn companionship into a massive romantic declaration. Instead, it’s about how having someone around can make an otherwise exhausting or repetitive day feel a little lighter.
After releasing music independently, the single also marks a new chapter for tuesday trinkets as they begin working with Sony Music Entertainment while holding on to the curiosity and personality of their indie roots.

Maybe the sounds we grew up with aren’t disappearing after all. They’re just being picked up, remixed, and loved by a new generation.
“I know one day” is out now on digital music platforms worldwide.
