There are some events that already sound beautiful before you even arrive. Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival 2026 is one of them.

This May 23, Puerto Real Gardens in Intramuros will become more than just a historic venue. It will turn into a living, breathing festival space filled with reggae, world music, art, movement, and that kind of energy that makes you want to dance before the sun even sets. Inside the walls of old Manila, surrounded by history, gardens, and open air, the vibe already feels set to be immaculate.

This year’s lineup brings together music with deep roots and global rhythm. Julian Marley & The Uprising will headline the festival, carrying the sound and spirit of reggae into the heart of Manila. Also joining the celebration are Sean Kuti & Fela’s Egypt 80, Jeck Pilpil & Peacepipe, Selah Dub Warriors, and Anima Tierra, creating a lineup that moves across reggae, afrobeat, dub, roots, and world music.

But Malasimbo has never been just about standing in front of a stage. It is the kind of festival where the whole space becomes part of the experience. Art installations, live performances, interactive works, drum circles, workshops, yoga, bamboo bike rides, and family-friendly activities will fill the day with things to see, feel, and join in. There is something special about the idea of wandering through Intramuros, hearing live music in the distance, seeing art around you, and suddenly finding yourself dancing with everyone else.

That is the magic of Malasimbo. It feels like music, but it also feels like community. It feels like a day where friends can gather, families can explore, artists can create, and everyone can move to the same rhythm, even for just a moment.

If you have been looking for a festival that feels soulful, colorful, and different from the usual night out, this is your sign. Malasimbo 2026 is bringing reggae, world music, art, and movement into one of Manila’s most beautiful historic spaces.
