Making Friends Through Fitness: Inside The Olivoré Club x Ride Revolution Event

From cycling alone before sunrise to making new friends at The Olivoré Club's REVVED event, here's why I've been enjoying group fitness a little more lately.

Back in high school, I used to wake up at 5 AM to train on my stationary bike before heading to school. It was just me, my bike, and my iPod Touch keeping me company. I enjoyed those quiet mornings, getting my training done before the day officially started. Years later, it's funny how something I used to do alone has become one of the ways I'm meeting new people.

Lately, I've been getting back into cycling and exploring different fitness studios. As someone who grew up playing sports, I've always enjoyed staying active, but there's something refreshing about trying new workouts without the pressure of competitive training.
On October 10, 2026, I joined The Olivoré Club for REVVED, a cycling and social event at Ride Revolution Greenbelt in Makati. The experience brought together fitness, music, and a community of people who were just as excited to work out and have fun.
There's something different about cycling in a room full of people. The music, energy, and shared experience make even the challenging parts of the workout more enjoyable. While I still appreciate training alone, I've been discovering how much fun group fitness can be.

After the ride, we headed to BLK513 for some frozen yogurt and a chance to hang out. I also discovered that they had brownies as toppings, which was a pleasant surprise! We went home with a few goodies, including drinks, tumblers, and hair ties, but the real highlight was meeting new people and making connections beyond the studio.
What I enjoyed most about the event was how naturally everything came together. We showed up for a workout, shared a few laughs over yogurt, and left with new friends to hopefully make more fitness plans with.

Fitness has always been part of my life, but I'm beginning to appreciate it differently. It's no longer just about completing a training session or working toward a particular goal. Sometimes, it's about enjoying the activity, discovering new places, and finding people who share the same interests.
Years ago, I was perfectly happy training alone at five in the morning with my iPod Touch. Today, I'm finding just as much joy in cycling alongside others. And that's something I hope to keep doing, one ride and one new friendship at a time.
