AWR Asia Year 4’s Shine Half Marathon, held on March 29, 2026 at Filinvest, Alabang, focused on doing the basics well and it showed.
The biggest shift was the route. Instead of the usual hilly and darker sections around Filinvest, organizers redesigned the course into a flatter, well-lit loop. It felt safer, more open, and more accessible, whether you were running your first race or chasing a personal best.
The event stayed true to its women-first setup. The race village remained exclusive, while spectators formed a strong presence outside. Dads, boyfriends, husbands, and friends stood along the perimeter as an unofficial support crew, holding bags, timing splits, and waiting at key points to cheer runners on.

It created a different kind of race energy, one that extended beyond the course itself.
That energy carried throughout the run. It felt supportive, steady, and easy to feed off. As one spectator shared, “what a great experience I had at this event 🫶🏻.”
Details were also a highlight. The race kits felt more elevated than usual, swapping standard singlets for more wearable pieces. The medals stood out the most, especially the heavier, diamond-shaped 21K finishers, while shorter distances received clean, well-designed versions in the same palette.

The finish did not feel rushed. Outside the race village, runners were welcomed with flowers and small celebrations, turning the end of the race into a moment rather than just a checkpoint.
Attendance may have been split across a busy race weekend, but the overall execution remained strong. AWR Asia Year 4’s Shine Half Marathon kept things focused, safe, and thoughtfully done, proving that a good race does not need to be complicated to feel complete.
